Pretium conducted a review of 46,500m2 of floor area throughout the 2-level, 8 building facility including 329 patient care beds, patient support rooms, administrative offices, therapeutic swimming pool, exercise room, gymnasium, bowling alley, games room, pharmacy, lecture theatre, and 2 cafeterias. Pretium also conducted a separate hospital code and barrier free accessibility review. 


In addition to direct physical assessment and financial plan development, Pretium has been engaged to develop condition and expenditure indexing tools that help facility Owners and Managers prioritize repairs for building systems within portfolios of several properties and within funding constraints.  


Over the past 25 years, we have assessed several thousand properties for Owners and Managers ranging from single family social housing homes, to high-rise apartments, from institutional buildings to large industrial and commercial properties. Through that experience, and our design and administration of building rehabilitation, we have accumulated an exhaustive library of costing data.

Pretium was tasked with the replacement of the existing rooftop units (RTUs) along with design of all necessary indoor ducting for a specific commercial unit (located on a single level). Our services for this project included the condition assessment, design, specifications, tendering, contract administration, and construction review.

11 Storey Apartment Building


Pretium completed the structural design for this 2-storey underground parking garage at this 11 storey residential building. Pretium started with the original condition assessment and saw this project through the design, specification, tendering, and construction. This project included a 19,000 sq.ft. garage concrete roof slab, further localized concrete repairs, waterproofing, swimming pool repairs, and architectural landscaping.


Our structural team has provided designs of unique and innovative foundations and other building structures in provinces across Canada. EIFS Overcladding

9 Storey Apartment Building


Pretium performed a wall condition assessment, destructive wall openings, and thermographic scan. We evaluated the thermal performance, condensation resistance, and projected energy savings of 10 retrofit wall cladding options using modelling software. Pretium created the architectural renderings, specification and performed the tendering, and construction review and contract administration. The building was clad with EIFS (Exterior Insulation Finish System) installed over deteriorated TTW brick and stucco cladding and was the first major EIFS Quality Assurance Program project (EQI) in Canada.


Pretium is an industry leader in EIFS (Exterior Insulation Finish System) Consulting; including active involvement with the EIFS Council of Canada, assisting with the development of industry standards, specifications, and reference documents. We have a strong team of Certified EQI (EIFS) Inspectors with Building Envelope Expertise. An EIFS can enhance the appearance and performance of your building.
